Michael Pacquiao
wowed OPM fans with his rap single entitled “Hate.” His raw and live
performance of the said single on Wish 107.5 just about a month ago, shockingly
became a huge hit on YouTube, amassing a total of 8.8 million views just a week
after it was released.
After becoming a
viral star, some already consider Michael as an up-and-coming rap artist. But
despite the amount of attention he has been receiving thus far, the young
Pacquiao still maintains a close relationship with his family.
In fact, Michael
is totally OK with the idea that his multi-division champion dad might consider
using his other single, “Pac-Man” as the ring entrance theme for his next fight.
In a recent
interview with MYX, Michael has revealed that his father's team is already planning
to use his collaboration with “Michael Bars,” inspired by the Filipino Legend
himself.
“I think they’re
deciding to use that [“Pac-Man”] as the main song for when my dad comes into
the ring. It’s crazy. If that happens, we’re gonna have to perform it. Me and
my friend, Michael Bars,” Michael said.
Much of the song’s
fame may have been induced by his last name. However, the younger Pacquiao
insisted that it was the other artist, “Bars,” who should receive more credit
for it.
"People
thought it was my song. It’s not my song. It’s Michael Bars and Michael
Pacquiao," he added.
Ahead of his
surging music career, Michael also acknowledged the support of his parents,
Manny and Jinkee saying, “they’re really proud. They’re happy. They
congratulated me. It’s really surprising how in a few days, it already reached
millions.”
