Thanks to Google Earth, a Japanese man had one more glimpse of his father who passed away some time ago. Deciding to check his own address through Google Earth, the netizen was surprised to find an image of his father standing outside their own home. He says that this was a common thing for his father to do as his father often waits for his mother to come home from work. Somehow, Google was taking images at the exact same time, allowing them to capture and upload an image of his father through their system.

Of course, all faces uploaded through Google Earth are blurred. However, the netizen reports that there’s no mistaking the stance and clothing of his father. It’s a bittersweet moment for the netizen with the loss of his father.
People who saw the Japanese man’s post about his father all had positive comments about the image. Many found it sweet that the man – despite years of marriage – still managed to go out every day and wait for his wife to come back home.
The Japanese man decided to do the search because he had nothing else to do in the midst of the pandemic. Locating his home, he was surprised to find an image of his father – especially since the man died over seven years ago. Capturing the moment, the man quickly shared his experience to his Twitter feed which immediately garnered over 690,000 likes. He hopes that Google wouldn’t update the image for his particular area.
This isn’t the first time that Google Earth managed to capture the images of loved ones who have since died. In a reply to the original post, another Twitter user immediately searched for his own address on Google Earth and found his later grandmother working in the field. Another netizen reported that his parents can be clearly seen on Google Earth, calmly sitting in front of their house in what has been a daily habit. Both have since passed away but in Google Earth, the devoted couple is still sitting in front of their house and passing the time together.
