So, do you have any plans to move to Canada soon?
Canada is currently seeking workers not only within the country, but also around the world. There are a lot of job openings, but it seems like there aren't as many qualified people to fill them.
So, it is a good idea to broaden your knowledge and skills in various industries and fields so that you can apply for one of the many jobs that Canada has to offer the world.
If you are a Filipino, you should consider enrolling in one of the free online courses offered by e-TESDA or the TESDA Online Program. Yes, you can sign up for a free course through the e-TESDA platform even if you are not in the Philippines or anywhere else in the world. All you need is an Internet connection and to be a Filipino.
So, based on my personal experience as an Open Work Permit holder in Canada right now, I recommend that you enroll in these courses as soon as possible so that you can find work.
1. Housekeeping NC II
Many hotels in Canada require housekeepers. So, if you want to learn the ins and outs of housekeeping, enroll in this course. You could learn about becoming a houseman or a room attendant. This job could pay more than $15 in Canada.
2. Front Office Services NC II
Do you want to work as a front-desk representative in Canada? Take this free online course to get a better idea of what to do as a front-desk agent. This job could also pay more than $15.
3. Cookery NC II
Canada is in desperate need of line and prep cooks. You could apply if you have the necessary skills. Enroll in this course right away. Furthermore, working as a cook will get you a NOC-B job, which will give you the opportunity to become a permanent resident later on.
4. Bread and Pastry Production NC II
Do you want to be a baker? Choose this course because it will also land you a NOC-B job in Canada, allowing you to apply for Express Entry later on.
5. Agricultural Crops Production NC II
Many provinces in Canada have many farms that are currently looking for workers to meet the demand of the entire country and other parts of the world. You could take this course to improve your chances of landing one of the agricultural jobs available in Canada.
So, if you want to enroll, go to e-tesda.gov.ph. Again, the courses are completely free. You can take these courses even if you are not in the Philippines, as long as you are a Filipino.
After completing your courses, you could apply for LMIA-ready jobs on jobbank.gc.ca or indeed.ca.
Best wishes on your next adventure!
