TESDA Success Stories – Creating Competent Professionals

TESDA was established in 1994, offering their educational service to the public for 26 years. Unsurprisingly, their close to three decades of operation has produced dozens of professionals in all aspects of the service industry.

Take Jovani Paayas for example. Initially undertaking Bachelor of Science in Commerce, familial constraints meant he failed to finish his chosen degree. That didn’t stop him though and with TESDA’s Commercial Cooking NC II, he landed a job at the Almont Inland Resort. Today, this TESDA Learner is now working in an Italian Cruise Line practicing his passion for cooking.

He’s hardly the first one, however, as TESDA’s line of learners number hundreds. Another one is Jefrey Corton Indangan who chose to undertake the Automotive Technology course which span two years. He is now the boss of his own auto shop with multiple clients coming back to him everytime they have problems with their vehicle.

Another popular program by TESDA is their massage therapy course with a National Competency Level II (NC II). Already having a degree, Miss Arcilla Subibi decided to expand her options by undertaking this particular course. Not only did she pass the assessment but also pushed forward to take the Trainer’s Methodology Assessment which allows her to pay it forward and teach others what she has learned. She also proudly spearheaded the Bislig Massage Therapists Association which has its own clinic with routine income coming in.

Writing Your Own Success Story

Today, TESDA continues to offer many courses to interested learners, further expanding the options for their vocational school. With the recent pandemic, this institution chose to strengthen an already existing option for students the TESDA Online Program (TOP) which allows learners to study, train, and earn competencies through the internet.
