He was once a computer online game addict and a former high school dropout. But, don't you know that he ranked first during the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) in the secondary level back in 2016?
He is Michael Prince del Rosario. He was the top 1 during the March 2016 LET Secondary Level with a high rating of 92 percent during the exam.
In a TV interview, however, he confessed that his obsession with "Ragnarok," a well-known online game years ago, was the reason for not being able to graduate from high school.
He was so addicted to the game that he did not attend his classes. He eventually dropped out of school.
"Hindi na po talaga ako pumapasok, sobrang lala po ng ka-addict-an to the point na wala na po," he revealed.
He added that when he dropped out of school, he did not have the courage to tell it to his parents.
"Tinago ko po muna," he said.
He then decided to take the Alternative Learning System (ALS) offered by the government for out-of-school individuals. Luckily, he was able to hurdle the examination and had the opportunity to go to college.
But, apart from acing the LET, don't you know that he was also at the eighth spot during the nursing board examination before he took the LET?
He got 85 percent in the Nursing Licensure Examination (NLE).
As for his plans, he shared that he wanted to become a secondary school teacher so that he could share his experience when he was in high school and so that he could inspire students who are going through hard times.
"[P]ara maraming ring maging katulad ko na noong una nadapa, noong una nagkamali, noong una parang wala nang pupuntahan," he said. "[P]ero nakakabangon at nakakabangon basta may pangarap."
