Describe an important festival from where you come from.

SAMPLE RESPONSE:

One of the festivals held in my hometown in the Philippines honors Nuestra Senora de Manaoag, the area's patron saint. People from all over the town and surrounding areas flock to the place during the feast to engage in different events, such as the various shows organized specifically for this fiesta. People also come to see the patron saint's image, which is housed in a local church. Individuals also prepare meals and invite guests to their homes during these times. These are the times when you can really see how friendly the locals are. People of all ages gather to commemorate the occasion, take part in various activities, and reunite with relatives and friends who may have even traveled long distances. However, as a result of the influence of technology, the said festival's popularity has dwindled over time. I just hope that people and the local government will continue to find ways to preserve such a cultural event that reflects my hometown's way of life and history.
